A shoulder 8 inches wide below the head is 5/16 or .312 of an inch. HEAD or 5/8 or .625. THIS screw drills the pilot hole. AUGERS shred the wood in the third step of the process when the reverse auger packs the wood chips back down creating a compaction I've never seen before. The propeller is very high quality, I like it but the lack of description led me to believe it was a .312" shaft. and a conical locking screw fixes the ramp clockwise, min reverse lock.
