Mixed feelings - fish and aquatic animals

The temperature seems to stay fairly constant, but I have to keep an eye on it because it can sometimes creep a degree in either direction . It's a bit confusing to set up. Metal doesn't break (obviously), but gets very hot. I recently found one of my fish attached to it. I'm not sure if she fried or died of natural causes and then got stuck. Pretty rough anyway, but I can't compare it to other heaters, so I'm not sure if this sometimes happens. When I received this device, their website did not list it as a current product that they sell when I checked their website myself. I took the risk because I liked the digital temperature control. I'm still a little suspicious for all of the reasons above, but it seems to be working fine for the most part. It's hard to trust a brand I've never heard of. I don't have any temperature sensitive fish yet, so I'm not too concerned about temperature fluctuations, but I think the thermometer was accurate. Not sure if I will buy again or buy a well known standard brand.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
