IF YOU HAVE RINGS AND A COMPACT IMAGE, YOUR FOCUS RING IS BLOCKED! It feels like you're being rough on it, but twist the focus ring at the top counter-clockwise until it's free, then keep twisting until the image is sharp. Focus 1 is very accurate and 2 is screwed on too tight at the factory. I bought it along with extra drives because the night sky as we all know it will soon be spoiled by trains from hundreds of thousands of internet satellites. of 8 different companies, all constantly flowing across the sky in 8 different directions. True stargazing is dying -->forever<--. I almost got it back due to the blurry image and bright rings, but I made a serious effort to unlock the focus ring and it paid off. That is very cool! I think it's a bit overpriced considering its features and build quality, and Sega has always done some pretty cool advertising. If I had been able to hold this device in my hands before buying it, I would have to seriously consider the cost. Now that I have it, I won't return it because I don't believe in returning items for the sake of "buyer's remorse". Although I would say this is a great gadget.
