They are very pretty. They are plastic, but very sturdy and thick. These can definitely be used more than once. They are a step up from regular disposable plates.They are light gray, but I only noticed when I put them next to actual white plates. (I remember wondering that as I was debating buying these plates). By themselves, they can pass for white.
