First of all the butter dome arrived well packaged but no instructions so I had to google it. The internet says add 1/3 cup of cold water and the lid will seal in the water. I think the measurement was wrong as the tip didn't reach the waterline. Remember to change the water every 4 days. This morning as I was about to butter my bagel, I noticed that mold was growing on the rim, which is probably forming a seal with water. I think my mom's method of putting the stick on a small plate works better. I'll probably put this in my next donation bag.
