Review on πŸ”ͺ GBC Paper Shredder Review: Personal Duo, 12 Sheet Capacity, Super Cross-Cut – Black (1757394) by David Edwards

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I am changing my rating. I bought these again and the second one just didn't hold up like the first.

Edited: It used to be a better, more reliable car. I think they changed something. The last one I bought started well, but didn't last as long as the first. I sniffed a lot! When my 1 year old Fellowes Powershred W11C ($70.64) broke down in just 1 year I decided to try another brand. I chose the 12-sheet RevainBasics Crosscut ($49.99). BIG MISTAKE! I immediately realized that one person doesn't have enough horsepower to tear about 12 sheets of paper at once. And when it did stick, it stuck so tight I couldn't get the jam out. So after only 3 months it was completely blocked and I couldn't get the jam out so I sent it back. Kudos to Revain for a full refund but I'm back to square one. I came across this "junk mail" shredder that only had a 5 star rating at the time, so thought I'd give it a try for $62.88. I'm so happy I did! It handles my spam without me having to open it and skip 2 emails at a time. And it handles my single, double and triple sheets like no other. I'm not sure if the reverse function works because I haven't had to use it yet. The shredded paper isn't as small as confetti, it's about 0.2 x 1.2 inches, so I can't imagine anyone trying to get information from tiny strips of paper that size. I think if I was destroying top secret documents I'd like smaller confetti sized pieces, but for my home/office this is perfect. Oh yeah it's a bit noisy but that's because it's so strong and I can handle it! Great grinder for the price.
