Loud and high is the best in Fish & Aquatic Pets

Have 2 of these, one is 20g long and the other is 29g. First, they are LOUD, way louder than other sponge filters I've used. Second, they are very high even on the lowest floor. I had to get a lot of my substrate out of the way in 20g. They say they're rated for anything up to 20g (as a stand alone unit. Based on the description here they won't fit in much larger tanks unless you have a different filter) but I'd find them really hard to use to be kept at 10 g or less.
