Review on VTech VCS702 ErisStation Conference Technology by Eddie Rivas

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Absolutely satisfied

When I wanted to buy a conference phone, I knew I wanted to spend some money to find something that would grow with me. Now we have a small office and we do conference calls from time to time. However, we are a fast growing company that felt the need for such a phone within 2 months and will likely continue to grow at the same pace. With that in mind, I realized I needed something that would grow into a conference. desktop device and I was very interested in remote microphone modules. They seemed like a huge gimmick, but I realized they shouldn't be removed and moved to other features. I was skeptical because I've had really reliable VTech phones and REALLY unreliable ones. Overall I find them fairly reliable and I know that more expensive models tend to have better build quality. (Think about it, huh?) What I didn't know was that I was going to love this phone so much. I use it about once a week and freak out every time. My favorite things are: - EXCELLENT sound quality even in a very "busy" room. - Remote microphone modules work at a distance of 20 feet and the audio is crystal clear. noiseless, easy to see - A cable to the phone is all that is needed. The only thing I don't like is one of the things I like. While the idea of powering this phone with a cord is great, it ends up being a mess in smaller setups like mine. First, your power line and your phone line connect to the junction block, then a heavy gauge RJ-45 cable connects to the phone. Basically it's a POE injection which I love but can be difficult to manage in a home office situation. This in no way violates the terms of the contract. I do professional industrial wiring, commercial audio/video, and consumer home theater/automation, making routing wires and cleaning wires fun and easy. For people who hate running cables and have power adapters everywhere, this device adds another one to the set. quality product.

Pros
  • Backlit 2-line display with date and time can store up to 50 CID entries and 50 name/number entries in the phone book.
Cons
  • Vulgarity
