Review on VRBOSHA Contour Gauge Lock Construction by Isaac Ismail

I'm a self proclaimed jack of all trades, not the best in the world but I'm trying! I have had to make contour cuts on a number of occasions and wish there was an easy way for me to make these cuts using a template. I saw an ad for a similar tool not long ago, but because of the price ($70 vs what I paid here, just under $30) decided to wait. I love the idea of using a tool that can be formed into a template to cut corners, pipes or just about anything to make projects look neater and maybe even fit better. Now the good points: Firstly, the shipping and packaging was great, the sensors arrived on time and neatly packaged in a professional looking box. Next comes the price. For the price I got 2 contour gauges, different sizes, for a little over half the price of a more popular brand gauge. I tested both gauges and the sliding action worked fine for me, however ONE lock on the side of one of the gauges is not working properly (hence minus one star in my rating). Finally, not all of the contourometers I considered had locks, so this worked to my advantage. This is how you get a clean cut! Cons: The only real downside I've noticed is durability. Over time, with the addition of liquids, dust, and dirt, the sliding of the sensors can begin to jam slightly. In addition, depending on storage and care during use, I can assume that some of the individual sliders can break because they are made of plastic. I won't mind the durability of the gauges much as I will only be using them when necessary and not for professional or commercial purposes. Overall I think this purchase was good and look forward to using it. these contour sensors in the future. If I find any real issues with these sensors over time I'll report it, so until then everyone happy cutting!
