My old bike is overdue for a chain change. It was an old chain with no quick link. The chain breaker easily and quickly disassembles the old chain, then the same to remove more links from the new chain. The install was EZ PZ with a wire clamp to hold the chain chain while aligning the Quick Link. The clamp relieves the end links connected by the quick link. A pair of bicycle link pliers snapped the quick link into place immediately. A suggestion [hopefully not too obvious] to start with: put the chain on the 2 smallest sprockets, which leaves more chain to work with. Clip, then chain to match Quick Link.
