Works as it should, but breaks very quickly.

This device did what it was advertised for. It has a threaded tripod mount which is essential and I used it for a few days but on day 4 I found that the USB cable port on the unit was faulty. The tripod may have fallen on the grass in my absence but I was a bit disappointed with how easily it broke and the data I had recorded for the day was unavailable. I was also a bit confused as to whether it runs on the external battery I plugged in or the ones I plugged into the device. Other than that, the software was pretty easy to use and I would advise anyone buying this device to be very careful with it. I found a CDC recommended IOS app (NIOSH) there, so I'm trying that instead. However, I'm not sure if the iOS app can record whole days of data like this device.

Pros
  • Three calibration levels 114 dB, 94 dB and 104 dB with 1 kHz calibration frequency. The cavity diameter of this sound level calibrator is 13.2 mm. Carefully insert the microphone into the calibrator cavity, making sure it is level to avoid damaging it.
Cons
  • I'll write later
