Works with Windows 10 on USB 3.2 ports generation

Works with Microsoft Windows 10 connected to USB 3.2 generation notebook ports. The previous version of this BAFX meter, in my experience, only works on Microsoft Windows 10 (or earlier versions of Microsoft Windows) with 2nd generation USB ports. I have a lot of experience with older/earlier hardware versions of BAFX, but this newer hardware version changes the button layout and has more recording features that are associated with both software and hardware, making things a bit more confusing.

Pros
  • LED indicator, green LED indicates calibrator is on and warm-up is complete, red LED indicates low battery. A green LED also indicates each calibration level.
Cons
  • No automatic

Data logging is extremely inaccurate

I was looking forward to logging data with the device. For the price, I wasn't too frustrated with the usual lack of intuitiveness and the cumbersome steps to go through to get datalogging up and running. But the fact that the data is completely wrong and totally different from what is shown on the LCD is frustrating. The devices are said to be designed for 30-130 dB. But uploaded data showed I was getting DB levels from 666dB to >5000dB. Needless to say, this is completely bogus and…

Pros
  • Auto power off saves battery power
Cons
  • I can't remember but something happened

Works as it should, but breaks very quickly.

This device did what it was advertised for. It has a threaded tripod mount which is essential and I used it for a few days but on day 4 I found that the USB cable port on the unit was faulty. The tripod may have fallen on the grass in my absence but I was a bit disappointed with how easily it broke and the data I had recorded for the day was unavailable. I was also a bit confused as to whether it runs on the external battery I plugged in or the ones I plugged into the device. Other than that…
