As soon as I opened the box I knew something was wrong. The instructions that came with the tester showed signs of moisture and rust spots. When I took the instructions out of the storage box, I noticed that there were no calibration reagents for the tester. I tried the tester anyway to see if it works. It turned on briefly, printed 7.3 on hard tap water, and immediately turned off. It looks like the tester needs to be calibrated right out of the case, which I can't do as it doesn't contain any chemicals.
