Fantastic emergency radio and USB charger at a great price, a must for car and emergency kit!

Purchased to complement an emergency kit and tested upon receipt. Very, very happy with this compact little device! Seriously, everyone should have one in their car - if your car battery dies and you can't use it to charge your phone, it'll give you enough power to call for help. I also plan to take it on a hike. Measuring just 5 inches long, a great item to add to your survival backpack, keep in your car, and at home for emergencies. Easy and intuitive to use, which is good in an emergency. Light, radio and USB charger. After testing all of these things, I was still able to charge my iPhone from 75% to 92% with this starting crank, and it didn't take an unusually long time. The flashlight works well and the radio works great on WB for a NOAA station and on FM. For some reason, AM reception is a bit squeaky, although pointing the antenna helps find the best signal. Also, the dial setting makes finding the signal easier, plus there's a signal indicator that lights up when you find the best signal. Fabulous! When rotating, the device is a bit difficult to hold because you can't wrap your fingers around it while rotating, otherwise the handle will hit your fingers. It seems best to hold the device vertically against the edges of a surface (table, knees, etc.) and secure with one hand by squeezing and twisting the handle. ing with another. Due to a promotional coupon for this device I also purchased a red Runningsnail MD-093 device which is larger and heavier, has a larger battery, clock with screen (also shows radio station) and metal clip. hang on a belt. This device was more complex and didn't seem to work, had to read the instructions several times and finally figured out how to flip the little switch on the bottom from AAA to LI-ION. Not good for emergencies, especially when someone needs reading glasses and doesn't have them with them in an emergency. I prefer the 088 because it's smaller, easier, more intuitive to use, and seems to pick up an AM signal better than the 093. Also, the 093 has a tuning knob instead of a dial, making it a lot harder to find a signal when you're on having to stop at each station to see if there is a signal while using the dial you can hear the signal by turning the dial. Also, there is no tuning light on the MD-093. The 093 comes with a micro USB cable and an iPhone adapter that fits my 5SE, which is nice but doesn't outweigh the cons. I was afraid the smaller 088 wouldn't charge well enough, but it would. I ordered both to decide what I like best before ordering more and while I'm not returning 093s I will be buying more 088s.
