My XL wooden cutting board that I have had for almost a decade has started to develop mold so I ordered this after reading good reviews and a great price for 2 boards. I had mixed feelings at first but overall I liked the bamboo boards I bought and would buy them again. Pros: 1. It's a nice size and is perfect as a serving tray for fancy salads, meats, etc. 2. Durable and cleans well.3. Organic and not treated with a bunch of chemicals. Disadvantages: 1. When you wash the boards some of the fibers wear out and you wash away those bamboo fibers. So far I haven't had any problems with eating or getting a splinter. I also bought a set of three organic bamboo boards from Bed Bath & Beyond, another company that had the same fiber splitting issue. So it could be a bamboo problem as I don't think I've had this problem with wooden boards. After using this board, I need to sharpen my knives more often to cook food. This may be because it is still relatively new and needs softening.3. It's lighter than expected.
