These adapters work very well. You plug a US/Canada plug into one end and the other end into an Australian outlet. It's pretty obvious which end goes where. It stays pretty safe with your gear in the US. It just won't show up. I've used them in Australia but they will probably work elsewhere. With all the devices you carry around these days - phones, cameras, laptops, Kindles - it's nice to have a range of reasonably priced adapters so all of your devices can be charged as needed. Note that these are not converters. Most modern computing devices operate over a range of voltages (e.g. 100-250 VAC) and frequencies (50-60 Hz). Before you set off, check your gear to be ready to connect. Chances are you're ready to go. After all, your gadget was probably made in China in the first place, so Chinese might is like breast milk. However, if you have older equipment or heavy-duty equipment such as drills or dryers, you will need a converter, which is a much bulkier and heavier piece of equipment.
