I read the reviews and couldn't tell if these people were using a socket. So I ordered one anyway to replace the upper ball joints on my early '60 Plymouth. The 1-59/64" size is used for the small upper ball joints installed by Dodge/Plymouth/Chrysler on cars equipped with front drum brakes before the 70's. If your car is factory equipped with front disc brakes , you need a bigger head..The drive size is 3/4" so get either a 3/4" to 1/2" adapter or a 3/4" breaker (HF has some cheap and useful ones for that).I bought an adapter.Perfect after cleaning 50 years of dirt and grime.First I tried to swipe the old one out with one punch and it didn't budge so I have one Used 1/2" breaker with a long tube on the handle and it finally moved. Then I got back to the beat and the old one came out, slow and sure. I did this with the joystick still in the car and the car used as a mount. You can do it on the bench but the holding can be a problem. No issues with fit and finish.
