We live in a rented house in Florida and drinking water contains so much chlorine that just the smell of tap water burns your nostrils. I don't think it's safe to drink. My husband bought this device based on a similar product we had in New York for which we had sulfur flavored water. It took my husband about an hour to install and unless you have a certified plum bar or it's really convenient I recommend professional installation for this unit. My husband is a certified plumber so the installation was easy for him. There is no smell or taste of chlorine in the water from this faucet, it's amazing. We also use this water for our dogs as plain tap water killed one of my dogs. Apparently even a ton of chlorine kills parasites in the water but actually allows some of them to thrive. I tested this filtered water before we drank it to make sure it lived up to the advertising because I couldn't let anyone in my house get sick or another dog die. The sample tested had a blank panel. I was blown away by how well this filter cleans. I use this filter for everything: making ice, boiling water and watering plants. If they made one big enough to attach to my water heater I would buy it in a heartbeat. We use it so often that we bought extra filters knowing we're using it more often than intended, but it's worth it for keeping people and puppies healthy.
