Review on The Ultimate Power Tool: DEWALT DCD760KL 18V Cordless Lithium Ion Drill by Michael Miner

Good drill for screwdrivers

I ordered this cordless drill from Dewalt because I wanted a reliable drill for occasional use around the home. My previous drill, bought many years ago, had a dead battery and the replacement battery was too expensive (it cost almost the same as the drill) so I had to throw it away. I wanted a lithium ion battery (2 lithium ion batteries included) as they seem to be the most reliable without the memory issues common with nickel cadmium batteries. You can always safely charge Li-Ion (just don't leave them plugged in unnecessarily. I used this Dewalt bit on a large fence: the bit is light enough (Ni-Cadmium batteries are heavy and Li-Ion batteries are heavy .much lighter).did the job (over 3 days intermittently) with the same battery and it charged in 40 minutes (I timed) with the charger and the red light that stops flashing and on charging ( charger flashes) the light stays on also indicates if there is a problem with the line by flashing differently). It has a decent sturdy carry case. My plan is to only charge 1 battery as I don't use the drill that much and maybe in 5 years when that battery dies then I will charge the 2nd battery and start using it. The chuck held the bit securely (NOTE: the instructions state that you should tighten the chuck when the chuck rotation is locked in the middle position). 2 additional double drills. I plan to have this drill for a long time. I still have 2 previous cord drills, 1 from my wife's father (really old!) and they have lasted forever and have been very reliable, but this time I wanted a portable one.
