Just used this for the first time over the weekend to make beef jerky and it does a fantastic job! I set the timer as recommended in the instructions and checked about every hour after the first 4 (total time depends on various factors). Although the fan is very noisy, it provides excellent airflow so the trays don't have to be rotated. I used to have a cheaper dehydrator that didn't have a fan and timer, and the trays had to be constantly rotated to dry evenly. Now with this device, just set it up and forget it.
