The doorbell works as expected and is durable!

Original review: 8.10.2018 We are moving soon and have a beautiful new house with new doors and paint. Our old house has scratches on all the door frames and doors from our 4 very large dogs and 1 small dog scratching in and out. So I was looking for a way for dogs to notify me when they want to go through the door without having to scratch it. The Mighty Paw Smart Bell 2.0 appealed to me because the activators don't need to be plugged into anything and no batteries are required at all. At first I doubted they would work without electricity. How can something without energy send a signal? Then I saw that the energy comes from the effort your dog makes to push the button and I realized the people who invented it were brilliant. My first purchase arrived and I was very disappointed to find that it only had one activator. I checked Revain again and found the option to select a version, one with one activator and one with two activators. Check before you buy! So I sent it back and got the right one. It comes in a labeled box with two activators, a doorbell that plugs into an outlet, extra adhesive pads, and an instruction manual. There were also packets of screws in the kit, but I disassembled the activators and couldn't find a place to screw the bases. There are no pre-drilled holes for the screws anywhere, so I don't see why they're even needed. included. I preapplied glue to the back of the activators and placed them about 1.5 feet off the floor on either side of the door for dogs of any size to hit them from the inside or outside. I plugged the doorbell into an outlet, pressed the activators and they worked great right out of the box. There are various settings for the doorbell volume and the sound it makes, but I found the default settings worked well. I think the appearance of the activators is ok. You could start a conversation and look good. My dogs haven't started tapping their noses on the doorbell yet, but they've activated it with their paws a few times so they're starting to understand what that means. and I know it's only a matter of time before they learn. Your scratching hasn't damaged or peeled it off yet, so from the outside it appears as solid as glue. The product itself works perfectly, I could not find any defects. Overall I would highly recommend to anyone looking to keep their doors or surprise their friends with their well behaved pets. 5/5 stars. UPDATE: September 23, 2019 I loved our dog doorbells! I have trained all three of our dogs on it. They stopped scratching doors and used doorbells as clocks. I gave up training the nose and they started hitting it with their paws very easily. The adhesive on the back of the activators is incredibly strong because one of my dogs is 136 pounds and he's not going to rip them off. noticed that they started scratching at the door again. I checked the doorbell and found that the external activator was not working. I pressed it ten times and it only worked once. I tried again and again and it was very unreliable. Not wanting to lose her training, I ordered another activator here at Revain. I tested it several times and it worked fine. I then tested it a few days later and it only activated once out of three attempts. As such, I have serious complaints about the build quality of these activators. The first one worked great for me for three months. The interior door opener still works great today and we will continue to use it in the new house. But the activator outside, located on a covered porch in a place where it will not get wet and dirty, no longer works stably. I still recommend dog doorbells, but I may have to try a different brand in the future. The two activators I removed from the door did no damage and were VERY difficult to remove so this part is well done. 3/5 stars
