I bought this to replace the radio shop brand soldering irons which I love but always seemed to leak where the clear butane gas tank meets the body. From what I've read in other reviews, this is essentially the same soldering iron but with a one-piece body. I've only had it a few months but so far it's everything I liked about my old Radio Shack and no problems. I kind of miss the clear tank to keep track of the liquid level, but I just started topping it up after I was done and it got cold, which should work great for my purposes. I have used other brands of butane soldering irons in the past and I think I have a new favorite, I cannot recommend this soldering iron highly enough. This #7971 SolderPro 50 Butane Iso-Tip soldering iron is essentially the same as a Radio Shack soldering iron I have used in the past and was considering getting one until I found this version from Wall Lenk and so far it seems so will be the winner.
