Great little flashlight and/or soldering iron!

This is another essential tool in any motorcycle travel tool kit. Last summer I had to use it at least three times to repair and replace defective cable connectors and solder joints. Firstly because I had to fix a faulty switch connection for myself BUT when others saw what I had they were quick to beg to use it. Keep it in a cloth pouch (not included with the flashlight), a little solder paste, a toothpick and some low-melting electronic solder will last you a very long time on the go. It is…

  • Blowtorch Feature

  • Not bad, but...

Pretty solid. I bought one of these from Amazon.

Pretty solid. I bought one of these off Amazon two or three years ago and it's been used a lot as it's multiple tools in one that have been used and abused and still work relatively well. If I were only writing this review for the first product I bought it would be a 5 star rating. I was hoping for a repeat though and with the second one I just received about a week ago it's not as consistent and I'm having some issues. Made in China (unless you have your own factory) often means inconsistent…

Pros
  • Approximate temperatures
Cons
  • Little things

Fantastic soldering iron

I bought this to replace the radio shop brand soldering irons which I love but always seemed to leak where the clear butane gas tank meets the body. From what I've read in other reviews, this is essentially the same soldering iron but with a one-piece body. I've only had it a few months but so far it's everything I liked about my old Radio Shack and no problems. I kind of miss the clear tank to keep track of the liquid level, but I just started topping it up after I was done and it got cold…

Pros
  • Butane gas powered cordless soldering iron
Cons
  • Only available in black
