Review on Kingsford KWS05 11 Inch Bamboo Skewers by Heather Laudun

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Maybe my expectations were wrong, but.

I have tried single metal skewers and single bamboo skewers and always had a problem with food twisting when trying to turn the skewer. Problem but there are other problems which I hadn't thought about The skewer handle takes up a lot of space that could be used on other skewers to hold more food Much harder to attach food, they just don't feel as sharp and you slide the food onto the wider tong The only thing that went easy were the chunks of peppers and some Campari sized tomatoes. The diced beef went, but with difficulty. It was just as hard to stop eating when it came time to eat. Maybe if you use chunks of mushroom or a whole white sauté "onion" before, they were gone. I don't use a grill, but I always grill skewers. set to low. And that's even after pouring some water on the bottom of the grill pan and some water on the skewer handles. For my second round of kebabs, I switched the oven to bake at 400 and added even more water to the bottom of the grill. It worked better. I think if you could hang the handles off the edge of the grill where they wouldn't be as hot you wouldn't have this problem. And I've never had this problem in an oven with individual bamboo skewers as they are almost entirely covered in food. One try was enough for me. They don't take up my kitchen drawer space, so the rest of the package goes to Goodwill. Maybe you can save $9 and learn from my mistake.
