Recommended for ages 3-5 years. I have a tiny petite 3 year old girl and can't imagine her using them next year because she is so small. I really hoped this would help her move and ease her sleep. Maybe a bigger one would help better because she never stays under. We cover them several times a night. We didn't notice any changes in two weeks of use. Colors are matte. My husband thought I got this because he thought it looked old and dirty. The cover is removable so it can be easily washed. You tie the inner weighted blanket to the bedspread to keep it in place. It doesn't fit exactly unless my case has shrunk while drying. So there are small clusters on the sides. The weight is evenly distributed. This can help your child if they are not constantly moving at night. They offer a different design that looks more colorful than the unicorn. I think this would work best for 2-4 year olds in a cot or crib. My daughter sleeps in a single bed as you can see in my photo how she looks in this bed for size reference.
