As many have pointed out, this is not a solenoid but a device that tests airflow in the EVAP circuit. If you have a P1443 code on a Ford, chances are the item is either dirty/damaged/simply worn out and/or the actual purge solenoid is defective. So I swapped them both out, it took about 10 minutes and no more than a MIL (Check Engine Light). Installation was just as painless as they were easily accessible next to the rider-size right fender on my 1996 Ranger.
