Review on High Capacity Allen Sports 5-Bike Hitch Racks for 2 in. Hitch: Secure & Convenient by Daryl Barton

Revainrating 4 out of 5

We could easily fit five bikes: 24 " women's frame

We're six in our family, five solo riders (yes, we're from the circus). We had a fight between this and a famous brand's clutch when it went on sale for almost 1/3 the price of another, so we thought it was worth a try. We've tried it several times and loved it. We could easily mount five bikes on it: a 24" women's frame, a 26" hybrid, a 26" mountain bike, a 50cm road bike and a 58cm road bike. Even with all the different handlebars, it works well with just a few rubbing spots (see solution below). Total download time was less than 5 minutes. One of the bikes is between the car and the pole. Load this bike in an inclined position and then lock the carrier. At first we thought there was no way but it was pretty easy and it fits a 27" tire and at the bottom of that slot the 29er fits snugly. Pros: Easy assembly and installation Sturdy, little wobble even with five bikes Easy hatch access Good and easy to use mounting system Cons: No built in cable lock We only use a standard cable lock but it would be nice to have a lock as well main mother and then the cable lock, it's heavy (not really a minus), it's not something you want to put on and take off every few days, it's for summer! 5-way mount, so that was our choice. There is a potential point of friction between the pedal and the sunroof, and usually with quick couplers. We're using water heater hoses, about $1 from a hardware store. It works like a charm, you can put it on the bike or pedal tube and then we just tuck it on the rack to keep it there. f is required. I would give a 5 if a cable lock was installed, otherwise a great stand and looking forward to summer on the trails!
