Review on Wheels Manufacturing Dropout 65 Derailleur Hanger by Andrew Woodruff

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Looks and feels more solid than the original part that came with Specialized Hotrock

The original derailleur hanger broke after 8 years of use, including being dropped in the wrong place which could be the cause to bend over time. It broke at the most inopportune moment for my 10 year old, in the evening when it started to rain - like most traffic problems as the last moment finds it. . The Wheels Mfg replacement part feels like carbon steel, is definitely heavier and has a rougher look with a dark finish and a precise cut. I can see it would outlive the bike itself (which might not be a good thing for a bike, as noted by this product's top reviewer). Anyhow, the replacement steps were fairly easy and the part fits like it will melt in place. . I think every derailleur bike should be replaced every 4 years. In my case, my child left her friend's house at dusk and we expected her to return home in 15 minutes. After 25 minutes we started searching and drove around as it started to rain. There are several passages, many of which are not accessible to the car. We panicked after 40 minutes and found her towing her bike in the rain. She apologized for our concern and when should I apologize for not taking care of her bike. Now everything is repaired and like new.
