You set a temperature "dead band "

I was very excited when I found this article, I am trying to control the heat lamps for my chicken coop. After making what I thought were the correct settings, I installed it in my chicken coop. The next morning I came and there was no heating! I thought that was it, bad reviews come true. In short, I understand that you have set the "dead zone" range in the temperature settings. For HEAT, the "ON" temperature is the minimum temperature (how cold) you want your item to reach before the output turns on. . The "OFF" temperature is the maximum temperature (how hot) you want your item to reach before the output turns off. outlet is on. The "OFF" temperature is the minimum temperature (how cold) your item must reach before the output will turn off. So in my case I want HEAT mode, I set temperature "ON" to 40F and "OFF". Temperature up to 48F. This means that when the stall temperature is 39.9F or HOLD the outlet will turn on. When the stall warms up to 40-48F, the outlet stays on. Once the stall temperature reaches 48.1F or ABOVE, the outlet will turn off. When the stall cools down from 48F to 40F the outlet stays OFF. Once the temperature reaches 39.9 F or HOLD, the output will turn back on. For cooling, simply reverse the order of your temperatures. You cannot set ON/OFF temperatures to the same number, for HEAT, ON temperature must be lower than OFF temperature (ON=40, OFF=50), for COOL, ON temperature must be greater than OFF temperature (ON=50, OFF=40). The range between 40-50 for heating or 50-40 for cooling is called the "dead band" where the output stays on if it was on when the temperature is in that range, or stays off when it's off was. when the temperature is in this range. Only when the temperature is outside of this range will the switch turn on or off. Another thing the instructions don't tell you is what the three LED dots to the left of each number mean. There are two LED dots above the numbers. When the left dot is lit, it means you are in HEAT mode, when the right dot is lit, it means you are in COOL mode. The third dot below the numbers is lit when the outlet is on and flashes when you have set the power on delay to a value greater than 0 and are counting down before turning on. It also flashes when first plugged in or after a power failure and the power-on delay is not set to 0. I would give 5 stars if the instructions were better, next test will show how long it lasts. work. I hope this statement helps others return a product that "doesn't work as advertised", I know I wanted to return mine!
