I ordered these for the Maine winter. I wear long underwear most of the winter as I have a dog and we are out in the snow and cold weather quite a bit. Haven't tested them in snow or cold weather yet but so far they work fantastic for the cold nights we have in the 30 degree Fahrenheit range. They are very smooth and form fitting, I had no trouble putting skinny jeans on them. The shirt is very thin and comfortable. I don't know if they are called fleece lined but they are very soft like fleece on the inside. They are very athletic, I could easily see someone just wearing bottoms or tops for training, at least it would work in the black I have. I ordered a size larger than usual. I'm 55 and about 140 lbs, I usually order a medium size but after reading some questions and answers I decided to go up a size and the plus size fits me. I think I could fit in the middle but they might have been tight on my chest and not as comfortable on the waist. I definitely recommend using their measuring guide, which will also help me decide which size to go for. If in doubt, take one size larger - that's my rule.
