Review on Janome 4120QDC-B: Advanced Computerized Sewing Machine in Stylish Blue by Duong Mac Anh Quan ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exactly as promised by the manufacturer, high quality.

Sewing machine chose a long time. I really wanted to learn how to sew quilts - patchwork quilts. Therefore, I chose the Janome 4120QDC. Compared to the Soviet Malva, the new machine is on the verge of fantasy! for 5 years now (anniversary again) has served me faithfully. Specifications can be found in the instructions. She sews everything from light fabrics - silk, organza, cambric, medium fabrics - cotton, linen, and thick jeans (I sew trousers for everyone), drape (I sewed a coat for myself). I pumped up the pedal - it broke right away, but after persistent negotiations with the guarantee, they replaced it, but it didn’t work for long either. The car can work without a pedal, from the button. Not very comfortable, but you get used to it. I removed the pedal cover, strengthened the button - it works. Apparently there was some kind of manufacturing defect that year. I don’t use alphabet embroidery (although this mattered when choosing a machine) because the letters are small, uneven, and often jams the fabric. Already tried different fabrics - the rating is "very bad". Alphabet - I think it is considered 300 operations, there are 3+ large and small letters. the one who emphasizes the alphabet is not worth it. You can buy much cheaper without this feature. I clean, lubricate periodically. 1 time I took it to the master, the power supply broke down (4 thousand) + replacement + cleaning and lubrication of the machine = 7 or 8 thousand, I don’t remember exactly. The master said that the car is in excellent condition, well-groomed. I sew everything, of course, with varying degrees of complexity: dresses, vests, skirts, coats for myself. I hone my skills. Patchwork is also in my "range": blankets for children and adults, paths, bags, baskets, etc. There was a funny incident. A friend came to visit. I set up the machine for embroidery, entered the program, pressed the button (not the pedal). The car was in the kitchen. She started working, I got up and went to make coffee. After a few minutes, the machine completed the program and stopped. My friend was shocked: she sews for you?!?!?*! Yes, I speak myself. In the evening I put the fabric, draw a model, go to bed, and in the morning the finished product. She believed immediately, but after a few minutes she realized that I was joking. We laughed.

Pros
  • It sews perfectly, a convenient display, threads itself, cuts and all the bells and whistles that are prescribed. The most important thing is to sew without getting tired.
Cons
  • Knitwear does not take, in any way. Zazhovyvaet, the line is crooked, tightens. Neither special needles nor special threads help. Small foot lift, when working with quilts, it is difficult to stretch the product. The pedals quickly failed. it is inconvenient to use large bobbins (it takes a lot of threads when stitching).
