I live in the city and walk my dogs at night. Wearing this personal intruder alarm system on a leash makes me feel comfortable and safe. The sound this alarm makes is a loud electrical crackle. Both dogs and cats jumped when I tested the device. That's what I did because I didn't expect such a sound. So, for those who don't know the sound is coming, I'd bet the sound of this device would make someone jump up and knock them off target. The alarm clock is slightly larger than my palm and heavy. I chose to attach it to the dog leash handle for easy access should I need it. I might try adding a carabiner so I can attach it to my clothes or belt. The alarm clock is rechargeable and you need to turn it on before using the "Switch" button.
