Review on SinLoon 2-in-1 SATA 3.0 Adapter Converter for Mini PCI-E M.2 NGFF and mSATA SSD (SATA3.0/M) by Paul Varnado

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Just a waste of money.

The interface chip on these adapters is not proprietary, and almost everyone uses a third-party off-the-shelf chip for it. The mSATA and M.2 connectors are identical. The sizes of 2.5-inch hard drives are also standardized. Therefore, in such products, the quality of the circuit board and fasteners depends only on the manufacturer. Which exactly about this one definitely sucks. 2 mounting posts with screws in mSATA full size position and 1 mounting post with 2280 screws in M.2 SSD positions are soldered to the board and look like they were soldered with a screw so now it's impossible to remove the screw holding the SSDs. The screw is short. So if you use a screw and stand to attach to the SSD, the screw will not come out from the bottom of the stand, so put the nut on the bottom of the board and the same if you try to attach the stand with a screw to attach to the board. There is no screw coming out to put the nut on and hold the SSD board. Usually all normal manufacturers of similar adapters (I have different adapters from different manufacturers) come with a knurled stop to catch the SSD board and You use a small screw from the bottom of the board to catch the clearance.a And finally, the mounting screws are soldered and secured (the screws are stuck) at the longest positions of the SSD board, and only 2 sets of mounting hardware are included, so if you use half size mSATA and any small M.2 (2230, 2242, 2260) you don't have the full 3 mounting kits. or you have to stick mSATA on one screw. Definitely not worth the money. Worse, it costs almost half its value to return or you have to spend time printing a sticker and finding the nearest Revain retailer to get it "for free", just wasting your time. trash can isn't even in the mood to check if it even works. :(

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
