Bad quality control. The savings compared to the OEM are not worth it.

I bought them knowing they are not OEM. They are slightly cheaper and easier to get. They arrived quickly and appear to be as advertised. BUT. Quality control is not acceptable. Upon inspection, I found that both bolts had metal shavings in the oil path from the drilling process. This chip was still hanging on the bolt a little. I used a small tool to rid the chip of each. This is totally unacceptable for a product intended for use in an engine. This chip will most likely break off on its own after installation or when oil flows through the channel. The oil carries the chip into the cam timing oil passages. The chip is steel and large enough to do serious damage. If I hadn't carefully inspected the bolts I would have installed them and never known why I had a major failure soon after. The photos show everything you need to see. The chip is the result of drilling from the bottom of the stud up. You don't waste time removing chips from the hole. Chart paper is 1/4 inch squares, so these are NOT small shavings. The tool is magnetic, indicating it sticks and not just an extra coating. There are steel filings on the engine's internal bolt in the oil passages. If you don't mind reworking the screws, I'll buy them. Don't ever buy them again. Even the simplest quality control will recognize this. The manufacturer simply decided not to bother with the leftover chips.
