I love these needles. The price is good. Wood is beautiful because it's warm to the touch and isn't as slick as nickel or as sticky as acrylic. They don't break as easily as acrylic. The spade lugs are long and sharp enough to be used with cables and are easy to shorten. The cords are soft enough to tie a magic loop and stiff enough to slide easily through the stitches. Interchangeable elements ensure great flexibility. For circular knitting, I use the correct size on the right or active needle and a few sizes smaller on the left or passive needle. This allows the stitches to easily flow back onto the passive needle and speeds up knitting, especially on decreases when you need to knit two or more stitches. With a 40 inch braid I can knit a flat wool fabric in one piece. With a Magic Loop I can easily knit a cord with 6 loops. To make a hat with a longer cord, simply loop the cord at the beginning of each row (about halfway through the magic loop technique), as the circles get smaller switch to a full magic loop. It all fits into a small pocket case with room for stitch markers and a cable needle. I threw away my straight needles. . No more long ends hanging around. No more hard work to hold on to. No more awkward colons. Knitting with this system is streamlined and clean, with all the weight of the cable resting on your lap. I have two sets, one in Sunstruck (light) and Caspian (dark). Because I have different colored needles in each hand, I can immediately see in which direction I have to knit (in rounds).
