I purchased them for exercising but have also used them for cold weather. I have been shoveling a lot of snow lately and I wear these under a pair of regular slacks, nothing heavy duty and I stay very warm. Yesterday it started raining later so I got quite wet and was still warm even though my legs were damp. They are also very good for the exercising part too, nice supportive feeling. Have a nice day.
