I use this pump on every Silverado/Sierra I work on, even if the pump/cam cover has to be removed. I always use a max psi spring. A 6.0 I put in that has 270,000 miles in good condition will handle 65psi all day on the freeway. One of my 5.3s that wasn't in such good shape at 255,000 miles is doing around 53psi on the freeway. My slightly battered and worn 5.3 can handle 45psi on the freeway. This is only 3 times and I will use this pump whenever I need it. I've also never removed the oil pan, the mounting screw sucks sometimes, but not that bad.
