Although these shoes are very comfortable, they didn't survive a 20 mile hike on first use. A few spots of glue came loose - the first 2 can be seen in the photo - eventually the glue around the tip area came off almost completely as well. Nike Pegasus' hiking partner did everything I did and her shoes literally looked new when they were done. The lonely peaks of Altra looked like they'd been to hell and back. The design is good, but the workmanship of the pair I bought was extremely lacking, which I certainly wouldn't have expected from an expensive sneaker.
