Review on Hydor Line External Aquarium Heater by Renee Davis

INLINE HYDOR HEATER and Eheim Classic 2215

Chose Hydor because I wanted to get as much ugly gear out of my tank as possible. I've read reviews here and on many fish forums about the pros and cons of the device. Some have reported problems and just as many have said they are durable and very reliable. Connecting to the pipe that takes the filtered water back to the aquarium is a very simple process. Simply snap into place and ensure the heater stays upright. The Eheim 2215 has 1/2" hose and is a perfect match for this Hydra model I bought. NO leaks, easy! It takes a day or two to run and set the temp, and I'm happy to say so I can say that it's very reliable at holding them which is all I could ask for in a heater. How does it stand the test of time? That's undecided. But here's what I like: 1. Heats my tank consistently and efficiently 2. It's not in the tank! 3. Many people report using it for five to ten years What more can you ask for These days many heaters are not built to last more than one year and the worst will stall and overheat the tank, if the hydor fails it should be shut down and I think there is always an option to go back to glass or titanium (I always have a new ebo jagger just for the case), but at the moment would like I have the aquarium in the spotlight. I'll let you know if Hydor doesn't work, but I have high hopes for it in the long run. Update: 02/24/2020: It's been over a year now, it works perfectly, love it!
