I don't think this is a good choice for most "kids" even in the hands of teenagers, they would have to take some responsibility to use it without too break. I liked the features, but the resolution could be better, which is probably why it is aimed more at a younger target group. Everything looked fine at lower magnification, but pixelation and graininess quickly became apparent as the magnification increased. Minus digital zoom before optical. The instructions are vague and important information is missing. There is no description of charging and how to use the menu system. Nothing about accessories. The product page doesn't list the micro SD card as included, although it did. Not sure if this is normal or inclusion based on reviews on Vine. The included tripod is necessary as in both telescope and microscope modes it's difficult to keep it steady while focusing on a point. As with younger 'kids' using this, they may have abused it due to the advent of the binocular device. Supplied with charging cable but without USB transformer. I just found out that the charge indicator is green when fully charged and red when not charged. The manual didn't give any information about charging and I couldn't find the size of the battery. I found this somewhat useful for blowing up hard-to-see objects. People over 40 have increasing difficulty reading fine print. Can also work for coin or stamp collectors. With a tripod, you can fix it in a way that makes it easier to focus in microscope or telescope mode. Need a manual with pictures and a description of what it does. A mild recommendation for adults and mature teenagers. Good quality video and photo. The price is very good for such a device.
