Review on πŸ› οΈ Drywall Cut Out Tool - DEWALT DCS551B by Ray Sheptock

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It would be great to give the user the ability to remove dust. my old rotozip had a detachable dust extractor.

I bought this tool because I want as many cordless tools as possible and as many as Dewalt 20V. I prefer a battery platform, even if the odd tool is a bit inferior to the other platform. In this case, I don't think this tool is inferior to other tools. I've used it on a renovation job so far and it worked great. In terms of actual performance as a cutting tool, I'll give it a 5. I downgraded it to 4 stars overall for two reasons: 1. Lack of dust control options. I understand it's wireless, and attaching a hose to it clearly fits into the wireless aspect. However, it would be great to give the user the ability to remove dust. My old Rotozip had a removable dust extraction hood that would be perfect for this2. No collet that accepts larger Rotozip X bits. It came with a small 1/8" (I think) for the standard bit and a larger I think 1/4" collet. However, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of a collet for the very common X-Bit. All in all a quality offering from Dewalt in my early use. Has enough power to drive through 1/2 inch thick drywall at a very reasonable speed. In combination with a Dewalt 20V screwdriver it's a dream come true. Don't hesitate to buy it if you are going to use it.
