Some installation tips: Interior

Avital 3100LX is supplied without a siren. Please read the description folks. I've bought and installed dozens of alarms over the years (I worked as an audio/video/alarm installer a long time ago). You can either buy the siren of your choice or connect this security system to your horn. As for the outputs, in most cases for this alarm you will need relays to operate the electric door locks. The alarm output is somewhere in the 200-300 milliamp range, and in most cases this is not enough to trip door locks. This device is made by Directed Electronics (DEI), the same company that makes great car alarms like Viper, Python, and a few other brands. I use this particular model in several of my cars and have had no problems with it. If you have trouble installing, visit 12volt.com. Most likely, you can find a wiring diagram for the alarm, as well as the location of all the necessary wires in your particular car. If you know what you are doing, installing this alarm is very easy. If you have problems with the range of the transmitter (remote control), try moving the device to a different location under the dashboard. They should be between 500 and 2000 feet away. "Brain" must be securely attached to a solid part of the car, otherwise the shock sensor will not work properly. Hope that helps. DR K
