Review on Honeywell HMP 12P QuickSteam Mineral Absorption by Ben Olson

This product comes in one of two forms: 1 - Box of six plastic bags, each with 2 absorbent pads. The pads appear to be cotton. They are manufactured by Kaz and sold under various brand names such as Vicks, Honeywell, etc. - or -2 - plastic bag with 12 pads. The pads are made of polyester (or similar plastic) and are more airy, whiter and a little thinner. I personally didn't like the idea of using them. What you get depends on the seller, but I buy from DealYard now because they have given me what is on the product listing so far. This rating relates to the 1st type; Cotton Pads: Pads work well and are worth using. They don't stop the hard build up, but seem to slow it down significantly. In my case, when the water quality is poor, they saturate and harden about every four days, and I can do a large number of spins without feeling the need to soak and clean the metal part of the humidifier. I would say a week was the max before I discovered how bad the water was and started using pads. So now everything is much easier. My humidifier is also Vicks which fits smaller pads than these. These pads can be cut to size or laid out like a pie crust. I put them in like a pie crust. The humidifier works just as well with the larger pads, and since there's so much more material, I get more work out of each pad. The oversized pads work great and are fully rotatable, even their curved parts. Overall I was happy with these pads with my warm mist humidifier. I think the moisture it produces is better than the cold mist I had before, there are no white spots around it and the cost is lower overall. My water quality is poor and 12 of these last longer and are cheaper than 1 filter for my last humidifier. Again, this rating is for denser, lighter brown cotton filters, not whiter ones.
