****UPDATE BELOW**** I just got my 2.25 inch button maker and I have already made two buttons. I already created the cover on the computer. and printed it out. Each button took less than a minute to make and the results were very pretty! Facts about the 2.25 inch button maker: 1) They use 2.75 inch diameter paper to make a 2.25 inch button. *****DO NOT BUY THE 2.25" ROUND PUNCH! ***** It won't do you any good! 2) It comes with a cute little circle cutter that looks like crap but still WORKS LIKE A DREAM! The smallest circle size you can cut is 2.75 inches which is the size you need for 2, 25 inch knobs need. Unlike many other circular knives, this one is very easy to center as it is made entirely out of clear plastic! 3) It is nicely packaged in a handle box and the machine is in another box inside this one. Button parts are in plastic bags. And the circle cutter is in its own packaging in a large carton. 4) The pressure required to "make" the button in the press is not very high. With some instruction and some parental guidance, kids can use this button. I say this with arthritis and if I can, the child can probably do it! 5) The plastic it is made of is VERY strong and durable. I was afraid this wouldn't happen but these fears are completely unfounded. This is a sturdy little machine and I can see it's going to last quite a while! The only negative things I can say relate to my personal likes and dislikes. I would prefer to have the metal parts of the buttons and the plastic backing in resealable bags. But that's easy to fix with a zip pocket for each. I wish the pins on the back were longer to make it easier to attach the pins. However, the included pens are quite usable. It has more to do with the fact that my arthritis makes it difficult for me to manipulate objects. I used to have a button maker, it was a handmade model that cost almost the same as this desktop model, hence I am familiar with button makers. Overall I would say this is a great price and good quality machine and pins. **************************************** If you are doing this to raise money or as a company, this would be a great investment. You get enough detail to make 100 buttons. If you sell them for $1 each, you bear the cost of buying the machine and parts. ($2 each gives you $100 profit) For $38. At 99 you can buy 200 more button pieces and if you sell them for $1 each you make a profit of $161. ($2 each $361 profit) At this point you might consider buying another button maker in a different size and have two sizes of buttons for sale! ********************** ************** UPDATE**** This button maker was so well made and easy im Commitment that I have decided that I will probably get myself a 1 inch button maker in the near future. So I ordered it immediately and received it the next day. Same great packaging, same ease of use, and same hard little push of a button. both worked perfectly!
