Skip this and spend a little more for a better product from a more respected brand - Anker makes a great product. This only works about 10% of the time. When I bought my new MacBook, I knew the constant need for adapters would annoy me, but damn I had no idea it could annoy me that much. I'm a photographer and I need to transfer photos from my SD card to my computer every day. This adapter ONLY requires the card to be properly seated and the adapter to be properly seated in the MacBook port. If it's very misplaced, it's just unreadable. This is VERY frustrating; I don't want to spend 5 minutes messing around with this to create a 2 minute photo dump. And if I'm on the go and need to throw away photos in a hurry to free up space or do some quick edits, forget it. Spend $5 more to get a quality product.
