Handle not finished

I have several Susan Bates Bamboo hooks and they are my favorites! They have such a smooth feel that I like. I have just received a size M hook and while the packaging was not defective or damaged, the handle of the hook appears to have missed the final step of the finishing process. Looks sanded and not painted. You can see the top hook with finished handle and the bottom hook (the hook just shipped) is not smooth or finished. I still like the hook but it doesn't slide easily in my hand as its surface is rough.
