2019 Huion KAMVAS 16 Drawing tablet. This is my first art pad, so unable to compare brands. Be careful during your searches and selection, some pens require batteries, some differences in tablets. It is not flimsy. The anti-glare screen is perfect. I like the size, overall about the same as my laptop but thinner and lighter of course. It came with a glove, extra pen tips, a pen and pen stand, and the required cords/cables. be sure you have the needed ports for whatever you end up buying, this has hdmi and usb.I think your amount of satisfaction will come from your expectations of what an art pad can do, and what you can do on an art pad. They are input devices. You use software to input your artwork. It won't turn you into an artist, it is a tool. Some software can be tricky, especially if you've never used any before. If you don't want to learn to use, you aren't going to be happy. I have a very simple/cheap hp laptop, and it's all working fine. I am theoretically the age beyond which people think I can learn and use software, but I'm muddling along just fine. There isn't any lag between pen tip and drawing effect.I got this so that I could have it at my chair, where I spend too much time in my retirement. I didn't want to have paper and pencils/pen anymore, and I wanted to "paint" again without being required to be in another room or making a mess. Mostly to experiment with color. I don't like that people think they are entitled to look at my sketch book. It's where i practice and learn. The tablet is neater/cleaner for me too.I tried a couple different programs (gimp, sketchpad. etc) and have been using krita. Again, this will all be dependent on your laptop, and your personal experience and preference, the art tablet is basically a touchscreen monitor. Then pen is ok in my hand not too heavy, and the software allows for it to be used like your favorite tool, even increasing line weight with pressure. The pen body is a bit thick towards the tip, so blocks a bit of the work as I sketch, this is probably just something to get used to. But the tip of the pen can be calibrated to your sight and touch.I love that I can do studies, and save as files. This is enabling me to sketch more again. If you like illustration, linework, anime, cartooning, etc., I think this is definitely the way to go. For sketching, improving skills, and conceptualizing, it's a great tool. I'm not to the point where I'm creating any real art on it yet, but there's plenty out there that people are creating.I think that if you've decided to get an art pad, this is a good buy. Larger may have been nice, but I like that it's within my space. It's comfortable on my lap, propped on a pillow. I don't think I'd be using the stand if I had bought the "pro" model, but if you use it at a desk that might be a nice option.
