Review on 🎧 High-Performance Silver Serpent Patriot Edition Balanced XLR Audiophile Audio Cables - Better Cables (Pair) - 1.5 Feet - Silver/Copper Hybrid, Low Capacitance by Juston Alonso

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Although the sound has improved in general, Serpent has the high frequencies right now.

Originally bought 1 pair which arrived after listening with the current configuration set up to connect a Sony CD player to the preamp. Preset - AR LS 26, Amplifier - Krell 300cx Martin Logan Request speakers with a Velodyne 18 DD subwoofer. The cable used is a Kimber PBJ with balanced Neutrik gold connectors. As soon as I introduced The Serpent II XLR, I noticed a difference to the Kimber PBJ. While the overall tone improved, the Serpent made a big difference in the top end. The top is much cleaner and silkier, instrument micro-detail is now present which was not heard before. Improved soundstage and instrument localization. Please note that I only agree with what I hear. If I can't hear the difference then I don't care how good or expensive it is. If you're looking for a little more refined sound, especially at higher frequencies, this cable will get the job done at a fraction of the price. Please remember that every system is unique. The improvement seen on my system may not be as noticeable on others. I have now ordered 2 more pairs to replace all of the Kimber PBJs between the preamp and amp and between the phono stage and preamp.

Pros
  • I hold my fists
Cons
  • Upgradeable
