Review on Cyber Acoustics AC-851B USB Stereo Headset: Immersive Audio Experience by Jonathan King

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exactly as advertised

This was a worthwhile purchase. I bought it for the call center I worked at so I wouldn't have to worry about finding a headset every day. Pros: - Ambidextrous comfort - Clear sound/mic quality (no hiss, no background hiss) - Noise cancellation - Volume control and mute on/off button - Lapel clip - Good cord length - Incredible price - Multiple headset options - Flexible mic placement - CONVENIENT Um To be honest the only "complaints" I could give are: It's USB only and the mic rotation falls off after a while. By that I mean that the headset can't be used for an iPhone or similar due to the USB, but such headsets are usually used on a computer anyway so that doesn't really bother me. After a while, when a headset's mic is rotated, it can loosen and fall to its lowest position (much like the straps on a cheap pair of sunglasses become loose instead of hard). However, the flexibility of the microphone is such that it's not even that big of an issue. Basically, this product was EXACTLY as advertised, at least in my experience. I like the price of this headset. I'm the type of person who studies forever before buying a product. I've seen many other headsets that only had some of the features that this one had and those headsets were much more expensive. I appreciate that, as someone who can't afford super expensive stuff, I was able to find a quality headset without practically setting my wallet on fire. I also like the mono and stereo options; I bought a mono headset because I'm deaf in one ear anyway, so having both headphones made no sense to me. I also love that even with a mono mic you have the option to choose which ear you want to wear it on as the mic can be rotated. (A lot of the more expensive headsets I looked at couldn't even do that!) Sound and mic quality were excellent; there was no background hiss or hiss. We had to overhear our calls as part of a quality test at a call center and my mic sounded great on playback. As far as noise cancellation goes, it's excellent. If anyone has ever worked in a call center then you KNOW how noisy it is! I was able to focus on my calls as I wasn't distracted by background noise. In addition, this headset is COMFORTABLE. I've tried using actual headphones before and I can only wear them for a few minutes before I have to take them off because they give me a lot of headaches and jaw pain. I'm talking about those huge ones that swallow your ears completely. Yes, they're terrible for me (and that's one of the main reasons I only use in-ear headphones). They, on the other hand, are very comfortable and I can wear them for hours before feeling the slightest bit of discomfort. Basically, I still use this headset, especially when I'm recording something (like when I'm playing games or something; it's actually not a bad PC gaming headset!) I've spent many hours in the call center, using this headset non-stop while it's been working for at least 6 months or more and it still works the way I first opened it. I love this headset and would definitely recommend it.
