15 years in use and still looks great

Years ago I bought this rug for my mother who was concerned that the new cream colored rug on the steps of her two story ranch house would quickly get dirty with it daily traffic.. and off. This turned out to be a great decision. The fabric is unexpectedly thin, with a light terry pile at the top and foam rubber at the bottom. In my experience, the foam adheres very well to carpet and tile, and the thinness of the material allows it to adhere neatly to the stair without dangerous creases or creases. Because the shared ranch has two half-stairs, my mom was able to easily bisect the runners to get to both sets. The cut edge was clean, there was nothing to unravel. The thinness was also an advantage when it came to cleaning, as it was easy to pick up and throw in a regular washing machine. She left the runners on the stairs forever, or at least until she left the house. When she left she gave me the treadmills and I washed them and put them away. A year later I found myself in a house with bright carpets and an endless stream of contractors walking past in heavy boots and dirty soles. I remembered skids and ran them from the entryway and through the living room whenever I had to do chores around the house. Two weeks ago I felt compelled to revisit and buy more to extend my reach in the corridor. They were hard to find, but I finally found a seller at Revain and bought them right away. I was so happy they are still in production! These are really hardworking, humble little runners; lightweight and easy to move back into place when needed, easy to lift back up, washes great, packs compactly and the protection they gave my carpet and tiles was invaluable. My obvious initial concern - especially since the material was so flimsy - was durability. I have to admit that I wasn't impressed when I first touched them because they just seemed fragile. But the treadmills I bought for my mom are over 15 years old and after about 7 years of constant use at her home and 8 years of occasional transient use at my place, they still look brand new. They are never pierced or torn, dirt and grime are easily washed off them. I'm so glad I have them and they're relatively cheap insurance for your expensive carpet.
